Great news for Mac users
Ever since the launch of the first Apple Macintosh in January 1984, the challenges of Mac/PC integration have caused more than a few sleepless nights for IT staff and users alike. Things have improved enormously since those early days, but until very recently businesses with a mix of Mac and PC users have found effective diary sharing something of a nightmare.
With Entourage 2008, Microsoft's Personal Information Manager for the Mac, such troubles are firmly in the past.
Until now, Mac users have been limited to seeing whether their colleagues were available or not at any given time. With Entourage 2008, they have access to full calendar sharing. Mac users can now bring up any number of colleagues' calendars at once, whether those colleagues are PC or Mac based. They can see all of the non-private information that their colleagues have entered into their calendars.
Entourage is much more than a simple calendar application, however. A full Personal Information Manager, it offers facilities for the management of a wide range of business activities:
- Address book
- Calendar
- Notes
- Tasks
- Projects
Entourage is available from Perceptive Online at no additional cost, with every Hosted Exchange mailbox. Life just got a lot easier for Mac users and their systems administrators.
